Boston and Maine is an N gauge end to end layout. It currently measures 4ft by 1.5ft and is wired for DCC operation. The layout wasbought from Leigh Model Railway society by one of the members where it has been out at their exhibition. The layout is set in a fictionalport where containers are unloaded and load onto flat bed wagons. The layout features a working crane which can pickup and put down containers on to waiting trains.
At the moment the layout is available for exhibitions as an end to end layout, from 2024 the layout will be able to operate as either aend to end layout or as a roundy round layout. When in operating as a roundy roundy the layout measures 6ft by 8ft. More information on this willbe when the extension is finished but for now it is an end to end.
